Tomasz Fechner, DMA
Dr. Tomasz Fechner splits his time between Los Angeles, California and Poznan, Poland. He currently works for the prestigious Guitar Salon International, GSI Foundation and records for Elite Guitarist. In recent years he gave lectures as a teaching assistant at the University of Southern California (USC) where he studied with maestro Pepe Romero and Grammy Award-winners William Kanengiser, and Scott Tennant.

Winner of Guitar Competitions & Prestigious Scholarships
Tomasz is a prize-winner of many international guitar competitions, including competitions in Weimar, Velbert (Germany), Almeria (Spain) and Mottola (Italy). He also received prestigious scholarships such as the Fulbright Graduate Award and the GSI Foundation Classical Guitar Scholarship.
Research & Publications
In 2016-2017 Tomasz worked as a research assistant at the USC Polish Music Center, where he conducted research on the life and work of Polish-American composer, Roman Ryterband. This work resulted in the publication of Ryterband’s “Sonatina for Guitar” for the Polish Publishing House PWM.
RECOGNITIONS
While at USC, Dr. Fechner was also an active member of the Graduate Student Government - first as a senator, and then as the president of the “Graduate Association of Music Students” and finally as the Director of Finance. His merits were recognized by the USC Thornton School of Music with the Brendon Mehrl Award for special contributions to the general student body. Upon graduation from his doctoral studies, Tomasz was awarded with the “Outstanding Student” award, as well as, with special awards from the Classical Guitar and Music Teaching and Learning departments.
RECORDING ARTIST
Tomasz Fechner is also a very active recording artist for Guitar Salon International and EliteGuitarist.com. In 2020, together with 4 other of Los Angeles’ top young professional classical guitarists, he established GuitarLab - an innovative online intensive for intermediate-advanced classical guitarists worldwide.
